Submissions Closed

Submissions are currently closed until December 21, 2010. Submission responses are rolling out slowly. If you haven’t gotten a response yet, expect one soon. Thank you for your patience. Etched Press would like to publish at least two more chapbooks this year, and yours could be one of them.

In the meantime, check out Sarah Carson’s great new chapbook Before OnStar in the Etched Press store. More updates to come soon!

Be the First to Own New Etched Press Title

Those who attend the Annual Chapbook Festival at the CUNY Graduate Center on Monday and Tuesday will be the first to be able to buy the new chapbook published by Etched Press: Before OnStar by Sarah Carson. The book won’t officially be available for another two weeks, but there will be a limited number produced and available at the Chapbook Festival Book Fair. So, if you’re in New York City, be sure to stop by.

Etched Press Updates

I’m still backed up on submissions, so if you haven’t gotten a response I apologize. There have been some good things that have come in and I would like to publish at least three chapbooks throughout the course of this year. The first new title could come out in June or as early as April. I’m still trying to schedule it logistically. I think submission will be closed during the summer months to properly respond to existing submissions and to prepare the first issue of the literary journal. Again, I would like to thank you all for the wonderful submissions.

In case you didn’t know, Etched Press is listed in the 2010 and the upcoming 2011 Poet’s Market guidebook published by Writer’s Digest Books! This is bringing in a lot more submissions and more exposure to our writers. I’d like to give a special thanks to Robert Lee Brewer, the 2010 edition editor, for including Etched Press in the guidebook. I think it’s essential for every poet that feels his or her work is ready for publication.

Bright Burning Fuse Review

Melanie Faith’s Bright, Burning Fuse has a review in the latest issue of the Wild Goose Poetry Review. The poems are said to effectively capture “the ambiance of late 20th century rural America using the only two tools available to the poet, language and imagery.” Remember to read these “appealing” poems and the rest of the review, here.

Check out the online portfolio of Etched Press poet, Melanie Faith. She has writing samples, personal pictures, and examples of her photography., You can visit it at: http://melaniefaith.etchedpress.com.
